This is where is gets interesting, MTV’s 8th annual Hottest MC’s list is down to the top 5 and the only rapper from Canada comes in at the #5 spot. No doubt this was a solid year for Drake–i’m actually surprised he wasn’t higher. Features on top 10 records mostly told the story for Drake this past year. From his work on #1 records ‘No Lie’, ‘Pop That’ & ‘F*ckin Problems’ to his own singles ‘Take Care’,'HYFR’, and ‘Started From the Bottom’, Drake continues to lead the new school in rap.

The fact that he now has a Grammy under his belt inclined me to think he was a little higher but hey, thats what debates are for. Look for an episode of #TheWord to come out of this. In the meantime, check out the explanation for Drake at #5.
