Dr. Martin Luther King Jr can’t have nothing! The leader of the civil rights movement just got his statue, and now Beyonce is trying to outdue him..smh (I Kid, I Kid).

For her hard work and dedication, her iconic status, and possibly being BIGGEST star (after the loss of Michael Jackson), Beyonce’s hometown of Houston, will build a monument in her honor.

The city has teamed up with marketing company, Armdeonce Ventures, as well as corporate sponsors and private donors, to complete and unveil the project by year end. In return, each donor and corporate sponsor will have their name etched onto the monument, and receive an invitation to the unveiling ceremony and celebration event.

Proceeds from the statue will go towards charitable causes, including donations to Hurricane Katrina victims and flooding victims in the states of Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. (SR)

No word as of yet, if Beyonce will be at the unveiling.

Just moments after the death of Blue/Jazz/Soul singer Etta James, Beyonce, who protrayed James in the 2008 ‘Cadillac Records’, issued a statement on her website.

For those who may not be familiar with Etta James, she was potrayed by Beyonce in the movie, Cadillac Records.

Etta James was born on January 25, 1938 in Los Angeles. Throughout her career she sang blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, gospel and jazz. James BIGGEST hit was her Chess Records release, At Last.

She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, the Blues Hall of Fame in 2001, and the Grammy Hall of Fame in both 1999 and 2008.[3] Rolling Stone ranked James number twenty-two on their list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time and number sixty-two on the list of the 100 Greatest Artists.

Throughout her career, she struggled with a heroin addiction.

On January 4, 2011, Etta was diagnosed with Leukemia. On December 23, 2011, James reportedly had to be rushed to a hospital after having breathing problems and was placed on a breathing machine. On December 30, 2011, James was taken off of the machine after being able to breathe on her own. De Leon said the singer’s blood pressure had also returned to normal.[40] On January 5, 2012, James’ longtime friend and manager said that the singer had been released from a Southern California hospital, nearly a month after being declared terminally ill.

Earlier today, Etta James lost her fight to Leukemia and other diseases at Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, California. (Wiki)

I think by now, everyone knows that Keri Hilson does not care for Beyonce Knowles-Carter. There has been many examples that Miss Keri Baby has displayed. Most recently, at the Soul Train Awards with Juicy magazine.

After suffering a mild Kidney failure over a week ago, Nicki Cannon has been released from the hospital. He is expecting to return back to work next week. His publicist, Tracy Nguyen, released a statement Monday.

Nick is now “resting and recovering at home” and thanks everyone who was concerned about him. He’ll return to his live morning radio show, “Rollin’ with Nick Cannon,” on Jan. 17.
